"Things have always been dark," and Bielefeld is no exception. The city's over 800-year history is full of dark secrets and eerie events. Stories abound of Bielefeld's "iconoclasm," of "evil places" in the city, of meth in the planning office, of a black sabbath in a discotheque, of murder stones, of a woman boiled alive, of smugglers at the fairground, of earthquakes in Bielefeld, of the "Imperial Trombone Day" where things got really loud, and much, much more. For the second time, Bielefeld author Hans-Jörg Kühne has delved into the dark depths of the city's history, bringing to light many obscure tales – some deadly serious, some unintentionally comical.
